In these days, we heard lots of news reports about the popular communication app Truecaller. The majority of peoples are used Truecallerapp in India. So everyone is shocked because the news reports say it is Malicious, it is now banned. But the company says they are Sweden-based and it is not a Malicious app. The company reacts to such reports that the Indian security establishment asked troops to delete 40 Chinese mobile apps, including the Truecaller, to avoid the possible cyber-attack, the company on the last Thursday, 30 November denied any foul play on its part.
The reports say, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in November 24 advisory asked troops to delete apps like WeChat, Truecaller, Weibo, UC Browser, and UC News from their smartphones or format their devices altogether.
But the company clearly answer to these news reports, the company said that “In response to certain reports, we would like to clarify that we are a Sweden-based company. We are not sure why the app is on this list, but we’re investigating. Truecaller is not a malware, and all our features are permission-based and are disabled by default”.
The news reports claimed that the foreign intelligence agencies including of China and the Pakistan continued using certain mobile apps to hack within smartphones.
“For additional clarity, when you download Truecaller from the app store, Truecaller needs access to certain capabilities to provide you with a richer experience,” the Truecaller company added to its statement.
